Rebuilds fail on stable canary with Discourse Events Plugin

Discourse Version: Stable

Steps to Reproduce

If I pass ./launcher rebuild app on the server hosting https://stable.discourse.pluginmanager.org/, the rebuild fails.

I have temporarily commented the plugin from app.yml to perform a rebuild.

Seems like a recent commit (there were a bunch of commits to the plugin recently) may have caused some kind of regression with stable.
